Subject: 2026 Mercury Rx Calendar ✨ Venus & Mars Cazimi 💥 Your Daily Astrological Forecast ✨

Dear Stargazers,

The 2026 Mercury Retrograde Calendar, which includes the shadow periods, is now posted on my website, and you can click here to view it now.

This week's astrological forecast features two cazimis (Venus on 1/6 and Mars on 1/9). The word cazimi is derived from an Arabic phrase that means "in the heart of the Sun." It occurs when a planet is conjunct the Sun within 17 arc minutes, which is less than 1/3 of a degree.

Why is a cazimi significant? Because planets (and it can by any one of them) that are sitting in the heart of the Sun are said to be cleansed, purified and energized by its rays. Infused with the Sun's powerful vitality, the planet becomes stronger and its themes are magnified.

Many astrologers believe that when a planet is cazimi is represents a pivotal moment in time that often coincides with newfound clarity and/or an important new beginning related to the planet's themes (e.g., love for Venus, ambition for Mars, communications for Mercury, et al).

And on that note, let's take a peek at what the planets have in store for us during the coming week.

DAILY ASTROLOGICAL FORECAST

January 5 - 11, 2026
Dates/times are given in EST

Monday, January 5

A series of uncomfortable connections throughout the morning from the transiting Leo Moon to the Sun, Venus and Mars in Capricorn may put a damper on creative ventures, romantic endeavors, playful activities and ambitious leadership.

Should that be your experience, just sit tight until 1:30 PM, at which time these influences will be history. From that point forward, your efforts and actions will be supported by the unencumbered influence of the joyful, generous and passionate transiting Leo Moon.

Tuesday, January 6

Although brief in duration, the Venus cazimi in Capricorn is a powerful influence that has been known to coincide with celebratory events of a heart-centered nature related to romance and children.

Since the Sun represents creativity and Venus rules beauty, this aspect is also considered to be a positive influence for artistic endeavors. Although less likely, since Venus rules money one can't rule out the possibility of a fortunate financial event.

Wednesday, January 7

Today's Venus-Mars conjunction is a passionate influence that can promote feelings of love and a desire for a physical union.

Although it can also coincide with the start of a financial and/or artistic endeavor, the highest expression of this energy is through a romantic relationship.

Given that it occurs in Capricorn, a sign know for its endurance, new relationships that begin at this time are likely to stand the test of time, while existing ones may experience a deeper level of commitment.

Thursday, January 8

This is an excellent day to focus on work and practical affairs.

Overall, this should be a productive day and an especially helpful one if you are behind schedule on a work assignment, lagging on household tasks or facing any type of deadline, because you can count on the conscientious influence of the transiting Virgo Moon to help you cross the finish line.

In particular, this influence supports practical activities that require organization and/or attention to details, such as paying bills, planning meals, grocery shopping and scheduling appointments.

After a brief void (6:23 PM - 7:06 PM), the transiting Moon enters Libra and introduces a soothing influence to help you unwind.

Friday, January 9

With the confident, ambitious and action-oriented energy of today's high-powered Mars cazimi in Capricorn supporting activities that will help you be seen, heard and recognized, this is an excellent day to get off of the sidelines and into the game.

The only caveat is that you need to be mindful of the simultaneous influence from the Venus-Jupiter opposition, an aspect known for inflating one's sense of self-worth. While this is not necessarily a bad thing (especially if you suffer from low self-esteem), it could get out of hand when combined with the ego-driven nature of the cazimi. If so, it is likely to create division in your relationships and/or provoke opposition to your goals.

However, as long as you maintain a realistic perspective of yourself and your abilities, your efforts are likely to yield a happy outcome.

Saturday, January 10

With both the Sun and Mars opposing Jupiter, the impulsive nature of the energy will benefit from a strong dose of self-restraint. If you wish to succeed at anything now, it is important to remain grounded in reality and not succumb to your ego's urges and impulses. If not, you will run the risk of failure due to an inflated sense of self-importance and/or misguided overconfidence.

At 12:55 PM, the transiting Libra Moon goes void for the rest of the day, which means it is best to delay making decisions or initiating actions once the void begins to help ensure that your efforts bear fruit. Rather than spin your wheels, use this time to catch up on routine matters, clean your home, practice meditation and/or focus on any activity that does not require a definite outcome.

Sunday, January 11

At 5:56 AM, the transiting Moon enters Scorpio, an influence that promotes deep thinking, strategic planning and determination.

More specifically, the steadfast nature of the transiting Scorpio Moon is an excellent influence for getting things done, especially if it requires concentration, research or problem solving
