Monday is quite an eventful day (astrologically speaking). The Moon remains in protective, nurturing Cancer all day. It will journey there until Tuesday morning.
With this Moon placement, we are more sensitive to what people say, and our feelings are thus more easily hurt — so be kind to yourself and others.
Self-care is key for the next two days! Emotional safety is also important to us; we like connecting to the familiar and enjoy nurturing ourselves and others — home and family call to us, for instance.
Make sure, though, that your glass is filled before letting others drink from it, or you might start to feel drained and resentful.
This Moon placement also started the build-up towards the last Quarter Moon (exact on later this afternoon).
Monday at 2:13pm EDT, the last Quarter Moon in 20.5° of Cancer becomes exact. We started to feel this aspect build the moment the Moon entered Cancer on Sunday very early morning. The Moon in protective, nurturing Cancer makes a challenging aspect to the Sun harmony-oriented, idealistic Libra.
This may bring challenges; however, it also energizes us to face what demands completion or change. This Moon phase brings us closer to Oct. 21st, which will bring a New Moon in Libra.
Eclipse season now is over, however the last New Moon was a Solar Eclipse, so with this last Quarter Moon, rather than starting major new projects, it serves us to take a look at our Solar Eclipse Intentions one more time and see if they are still a good fit.
As best as you can, find creative solutions for anything that comes up (whether internally or with others).
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in 18-22 degrees of Cancer, Libra, Capricorn, or Aries? If so, you will feel this month’s last Quarter Moon quite strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Leo or Cancer since the Sun rules Leo and the Moon rules Cancer.
Monday at 5:19pm EDT, Venus changes signs from detail-oriented, practical Virgo and moves into harmony-loving, balance-seeking Libra. She will journey through that sign until Nov. 6th.
With this placement, we prefer to show kindness, even-handedness, and a willingness to make our relationships work.
We value our relationships at this time, and we prefer entering into equal partnerships. Until Nov. 6th, we can develop an idealized view of what a relationship “should” look like.
We do our best to treat others fairly for the next three and a half weeks, seeking the middle ground.
We are more likely to appreciate the arts, dance, beauty, collaborative projects, and celebrations of love (weddings, relationship anniversaries, declarations of love, marriage proposals, etc.).
Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus? If so, you will feel more connected to your inner harmony for the next 3.5 weeks. Your heart will want to connect to others in an equal setting. If you are a Libra Sun- or Rising sign, you are going to have more love and beauty in your life for as long as Venus is in your sign.
Monday late evening, a Venus/Neptune opposition becomes exact at 9:16pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Saturday morning (Oct. 11th) on; it will remain strong until Thursday morning (Oct. 16th). We are ready to dissolve anything we valued in the past that no longer serves us or humanity.
Our relationships might feel confusing or disappointing; they might even be some of the things “dissolving” — but this is helping us get more connected with our inner knowingness or sense of what feels “right”. Compassion may play a significant role in our interactions.
Ask yourself: What is in alignment with my higher Self? Can I find a way to connect what I value in my relationships with who I need to be to inspire others? Could I be open to the idea that everyone has infinite potential and the Soul is just waiting for us to live out this potential? Where might “pleasing others” and “continuous harmony” be overrated?
This might not be the best time to start a new relationship, as we tend to idealize others, leading to disappointment. As best as you can, find your inner balance with what’s real and what’s not… and allow others to be human, limitations and all.
Financially, we may want to invest in creative or spiritual endeavors that include others, but hold off on buying anything concrete or practical until after Oct. 16th
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following: 0-3 degrees of Libra, Aries, Cancer, Capricorn, or 27-29 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, or Sagittarius? If so, you will feel this aspect quite strongly.
This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Taurus, Libra, or Pisces (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra; Neptune rules Pisces).
Monday at 10:54pm EDT, Pluto halts at 1º22′ of Aquarius, going direct, after completing its 5-month Retrograde phase (May 4th – Oct. 13th). Pluto’s energy will continue to move more slowly until Oct. 28th.
When an outer planet stops, its energy gets more pronounced; we become more aware of its impact on us — and this can sometimes cause discomfort. We are being asked to hang out with that discomfort until the planet’s energy has picked up again (around Oct. 28th).
During the Retrograde phase, we had a chance to connect to anything associated with Pluto from within.
Pluto is associated with our Soul purpose, as well as the process of empowerment — our ability to feel empowered from within — and with our deepest passions. This forced us to see what truly motivates us.
For the last 5 months, we’ve needed to tap into inner authenticity, embracing all of ourselves: the good, the bad, and the ugly.
We can now bring this inner authenticity to the outer world and are ready to let go of any habits, behaviors, or fears holding us back from feeling fully empowered from within.
Whatever we have intuitively learned about our inner passion, strength, and Soul’s purpose, we are now ready to bring that knowledge to the outside world. This deeper connection is going to serve us on our journey towards authenticity.
We can establish connections with like-minded people that align with our soul’s purpose and lead us into a future that empowers ourselves and our communities. Ask yourself: What do I “just know” deep down?
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following: 27-29 degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Libra, Aries, or 0-1 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, or Scorpio? If so, you will feel this station more strongly. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Scorpio (Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio).
Monday night/Tuesday very early morning at 1:05am EDT, we enter a Moon VoC that will last for almost 5.5 hours, until 6:47am EDT (Tuesday morning). Use this intuitive time to focus on spiritual/intuitive experiences or creative endeavors and to lend loving and nurturing support to others.
As best as you can, focus on the here and now, and release anything that feels outdated or stuck in the past.
As always with a Moon VoC, as best as you can, don’t start anything brand-new, stick to routine things, or simply go with the flow. If you are awake, you may also want to plan Monday night until Tuesday morning ahead of time.
