Monday is quite the day (astrologically speaking). The Moon remains in pioneering, fast-paced Aries all day. It will journey there until Tuesday night. Life is an adventure; we’re more open to new ideas and enthusiastic about new projects.
Patience is certainly not our strong suit at this time, but we can decide quickly and act promptly. Our independence and dynamism are important to us, so we may struggle to be disciplined or accept advice.
In general, our responses to others tend to be more assertive or even aggressive. If you find your foot tapping, try hitting the gym or finding other ways to burn off the body’s excess energy.
Monday at 12:41pm EDT, Mercury changes signs from harmony-seeking Libra to passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpio, where it will journey until Oct. 29th. During those 3 weeks, we can focus on what’s most important to us on a deep emotional level.
We can get to the very heart of any matter at this time (especially through conversation). We are more passionate about giving valid advice or support. We are not satisfied with superficial connections right now — it’s all or nothing.
For that reason, our mental processes could get a little obsessive. Watch out for catastrophic thinking! We may also be more suspicious and expect bad intentions.
It’s a time that favors reading or writing about intrigue, mystery, and hidden motives. Mercury in Scorpio loves anything that challenges the brain, and often finds us more interested in what makes people tick.
This shift into Scorpio also starts a Yod aspect, with Mercury as the Focal point. I discussed this in my Super Full Moon article and will go into more details below (see Tuesday’s forecast).
Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini or Virgo? If so, you will feel a greater need to investigate deeper emotional issues or motives. Do you have your Ascendant or Sun-sign in Scorpio? If so, you will most likely feel more chatty and mentally alert for the next 3 weeks.
Monday evening, a somewhat challenging Mercury/Neptune aspect becomes exact at 6:53pm EDT. We started to feel this aspect build from Sunday evening (Oct. 5th) on; it will remain strong until Tuesday evening (Oct. 7th).
This could contribute to mental confusion and spaciness or the need to communicate with others from an inspirational place (but possibly not knowing how to achieve that).
We may experience inner struggles or find there are adjustments to be made. We may feel confused at times as we are pulled in two very different directions…
On the one hand, tuning into our personal vision, getting excited, and finding the inspiration to take action.
On the other hand, obsessing over what lies beneath the surface (and others’ motivations) and thinking through what feels most empowering to ourselves and others.
We may also contemplate worst-case scenarios in the hope of protecting ourselves from a potentially less-than-ideal future.
Sometimes, imagination and vision can run way ahead of what is feasible (and sensible). At these times, the grand vision is best served by focusing on the next concrete step, accepting our idiosyncrasies as we go.
Honesty is crucial here, especially self-honesty; inner awareness is the key!
What are you sensing? Intuiting? Where do your intimate partnerships not seem to fit with your ideals, dreams, or fantasies?
Where could you learn to understand the deeper connections between things? What needs to be communicated in your collaborations?
Where might you be avoiding some aspect of this? Could you put some space, time, and love around this? What’s clear to you? What looks muddy? Where might you be looking through rose-colored glasses? Where might some of those lenses overlap?
Note that I say “overlap”: Don’t look for an exact fit; this is more like two pieces from different jigsaw puzzles. You might keep looking at the imperfect fit and feel a nagging sense that something doesn’t make sense… And it doesn’t. It can’t. The pieces are not from the same game.
Just do your best to “hang out” with the discomfort this evokes, rather than repeatedly trying to figure it out and fix it.
This Quincunx is part of a Yod aspect, with Mercury as the Focal point. Again, I discussed this in my Super Full Moon article, and will go into more details tomorrow, Tuesday.
Do you have your Ascendant, Career Point (or personal planets) in the following: 0-2 degrees of Scorpio, Aries, or 29 degrees of Libra, or Pisces? If so, you will be more affected by this aspect. This is also true for those of us who have our Ascendant or Sun-sign in Gemini, Virgo, or Pisces (Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and Virgo; Neptune rules Pisces).
Monday at 11:48pm EDT, the Sun in Libra opposes the Moon at 14º of Aries. The Moon’s entry into Aries on Sunday night (Oct. 5/6) began the build-up toward this powerful Super Full Moon.
This lunation spotlights what we need to heal or shift within ourselves to experience the peace, harmony, and balance we long for in our lives and relationships.
The Aries–Libra polarity highlights the ongoing dance between self and other, assertion and cooperation, independence and partnership, masculine and feminine.
The Moon in pioneering Aries opposes the Sun in balance-seeking Libra, reminding us that every Full Moon brings our emotional body to the forefront. Feelings rise, what has been suppressed becomes visible, and the unconscious finds its way into form.
On a subtle level, the Moon connects us with our feminine side, our maternal conditioning, and our capacity to give and receive nourishment. At the Full Moon, what has been in the shadows comes to light — and this one is particularly potent.
Why? Because it is a Super Full Moon — the Moon is closer to the Earth, intensifying tidal pulls, tectonic stresses, and the stirrings of our emotional bodies. And since it follows a Solar Eclipse, we are still in Eclipse Season.
