Wines of the West returns to The Carrington Hotel, Katoomba on Saturday 15 and

Sunday 16 August 2026, bringing together 15 wineries from the Blue Mountains

and NSW Central West for a weekend dedicated to great wine, passionate

winemakers and regional flavours. Meet the people behind the labels, sample an incredible range of cool-climate wines, hear the stories behind each vintage, and discover some new favourites along the way.

World Embroidery Day Celebrations: Christmas in July

Stitch your own beautiful Christmas tree with our friends from the Blue Mountains Embroiderers’ Group.


Celebrate World Embroidery Day and cosy up at the Cultural Centre for Christmas in July. Join us for a festive, hands-on, drop-in workshop with our friends from the Blue Mountains Embroiderers’ Group (BMEG) and stitch your own beautiful Christmas tree.


Guided by the friendly and talented BMEG ladies, using simple embroidery techniques and shimmering sequins, participants of all skill levels can relax, learn, and create in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The perfect creative escape for a cold winter’s day, if you are picking up a needle for the first time or brushing up on your stitching, full of cheer, creativity, and a touch of handmade holiday magic. Make a beautiful, embroidered keepsake to treasure (or gift!) and possibly a new favourite hobby.

Rock The Backyard 3 returns to Panthers Penrith on Saturday 28 November 2026 for a huge outdoor celebration of iconic Australian rock and pop.

 

Set in The Backyard at Panthers Penrith, the festival brings together eight legendary acts performing more than 60 massive hits across one awesome day. The lineup features Mental As Anything, Richard Clapton, 1927, The Radiators, Eurogliders featuring Grace Knight, V Spy V Spy, The Chantoozies and Mick Thomas (Weddings Parties Anything).

 

Gates open at 2:00pm, with the first act taking the stage at 3:00pm. Music fans are encouraged to secure tickets early for one of Sydney’s biggest nostalgic rock events of the year.
