Zig Zag Railway celebrates anniversary month in style


Zig Zag Railway will celebrate its 155th anniversary this month with a special event designed to bring the whole community together.

With heritage bus and carnival rides, local artisan markets, entertainment for the whole family and ‘taster’ rides behind not only a 81yr old steam locomotive but also the impeccably restored diesel locomotive, the day is one not to be missed.

Zig Zag Railway Chief Executive Officer, Daniel Zolfel said the event on Saturday 19 October was an opportunity to celebrate of the return of the railway to passenger services, the history of steam and the engineering marvel that is the Great Lithgow Zig Zag.
