Dear Friend of America's Survival, Inc.:

Here are two facts about Tuesday night's debate:

  • The Romney campaign approved Candy Crowley as moderator, and went along with her expanded role.
  • As Crowley indicated, Obama did refer to "acts of terror" in his Rose Garden statement.

He said, "No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for."

My friends, let's face it: Romney seemed confused. He didn't handle it well. Don't blame the moderator.

On the other hand, as Romney suggested, Obama's administration was still trying to insist that the murders of four Americans were the result of a protest linked to a video. That was a lie on the part of the Obama Administration. I have written about the reason for the lie.

What Romney should have done was cite the recent speech of veteran war correspondent CBS reporter Lara Logan on how the terrorists in the Middle East are winning and how the Obama Administration is lying.

What we saw in this debate was a fine performance by Romney on economic matters and little else. This is Romney's strength. He's not so good on foreign policy and social issues.

Consider Obama's multiple references to Planned Parenthood. Not once did Romney counter that Planned Parenthood performs abortions.

Obama claimed that, "There are millions of women all across the country who rely on Planned Parenthood for mammograms, for cervical cancer screenings."

Romney failed to point this out that Planned Parenthood does not perform mammograms. Don't blame this omission on Crowley.

The final debate examines foreign policy. The influence of Frank Marshall Davis helps explain Obama's pro-Russian bent.
