[ASI] War Fever in Washington

Dear Friend of America’s Survival:

It looks like the same trick is being used now that was used back in 2013. Then, as Ken Timmerman explains in this video, “manufactured intelligence” was used to blame the Syrian regime for a chemical weapons attack.

My friends, I don’t trust our intelligence agencies.

The Russian Defense Ministry says the Syrians attacked an ISIS munitions depot where ISIS was making chemical weapons. I don’t necessarily believe this theory, either.

Before we go to war, get the proof and then, have Congress debate going to war.

In my column, “Our Warmonger President and the Lapdog Press,” on Obama, I noted:

Needless to say, Congress never declared war on Syria, in order to justify CIA funding of the “rebels” there. The Congress has also not declared war on the Islamic State, also known as ISIL or ISIS, and yet we are at war in the Middle East against them, and American troops are dying on the battlefield.

Senator Rand Paul is correct that Trump must go to Congress and get approval.  Watch this video of his questioning of Trump’s UN Ambassador Nikki Haley about this matter. She was somewhat evasive. She only called for Congress to be consulted.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina “told reporters he doesn't believe Trump needs Congress to authorize the use of military force in Syria,” according to the New York Times.

He needs to read the Constitution.

Graham says: “This is the biggest test yet of the Trump presidency. The President has an opportunity to punish Assad in a way that President Obama never would. This is the moment for President Trump to prove to everyone that when it comes to foreign policy and standing up to dictators, he is not President Obama. I don’t believe this President will make the same mistakes of his predecessor when it comes to Assad.”

It is a big test.

I agree with him to this extent: don’t make the same mistake as Obama by failing to go to Congress to get approval before going to war.

We are already at war illegally in the Middle East.  Yet Trump is already pouring hundreds more U.S. troops into Syria, supposedly to fight ISIS.

So here’s the plan. Trump will go to war in Syria under the pretext of a UN resolution.

Forget “America first.”

The Syrian Emergency Task Force, which is linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, says:

United Nations Security Council Resolutions 2118, passed in 2014, has made clear that the use of chemical weapons in Syria is punishable under Chapter 7 of the UN Charter, which includes the authorization of military consequences. The UN's Joint Investigative Mechanism has also confirmed a number of chemical weapons attacks in Syria in the past four years since the infamous August 2013 chemical weapons attack in Ghouta in the Damascus suburbs.

So this is what Trump is being urged to do – go to war notwith U.S. congressional approval but with U.N. approval.

This is illegal, unconstitutional, and just plain wrong.
