Dear Friend of America's Survival, Inc.:

ASI President Cliff Kincaid at Eureka College, Ronald Reagans's alma mater, on September 25.

I came to Washington in 1978, and so I was there when Iran was lost to Muslim fanatics and the Iranian hostage crisis occurred, as Americans at the U.S. Embassy in Iran were held hostage by the new regime.

Remember that seventy-one American diplomats were captured, and fifty-three of them were held hostage for 444 days. ABC aired a news program devoted entirely to the crisis called "America Held Hostage." Within a few minutes of Ronald Reagan's inauguration as president, the hostages were released.

Jimmy Carter, then U.S. president, is not Barack Obama, and Mitt Romney is not Ronald Reagan, then the Republican candidate for president.

By any objective measure, however, the situation is worse for the United States than when Jimmy Carter went down to defeat. The Obama Administration lied for a week about the terrorist attack that killed four Americans in Libya, blaming it on a film, when al-Qaeda was behind it.

While Jimmy Carter was widely viewed as incompetent, it was deliberate U.S. policy under Obama to overthrow the Libyan and Egyptian governments.

Our media are permitting Obama to lie about the crisis, by blaming that film, in order to avoid the same fate as Jimmy Carter — a loss in November. Reagan ended up with about 51 percent, and Carter got 41 percent.

In 1984, running for re-election, Reagan got about 59 percent of the vote, compared to Democrat Walter Mondale's 41 percent.

Romney runs behind in some polls for several reasons, including that he is a Republican who is treated more harshly by the media. This has an effect. Another reason is that he is running a bad campaign. And he refuses to take on the press.

The current Middle East terrorism crisis can spell doom for Obama at the polls. But only if Romney goes on the offensive.

Some say the current crisis could be Barack Obama's Watergate — the name of the scandal that brought down Richard Nixon. But nobody died in Watergate, and yet Republican President Richard Nixon was forced out of office.

By contrast, four Americans died in the terrorist attack on 9/11 in Libya.

You deserve to know the truth about the desperate situation we are in. This is a national security crisis and scandal. It is time to hold Obama accountable.

We cannot return to business as usual.

Read my column: Why Are They Lying about the 9/11/12 Terrorist Attacks?

Then read my latest column:

Clueless Mitt: Romney Won't Challenge Liberal Media Bias

Before Romney can go after Obama, he must challenge the liberal media to report the truth. We must challenge them as well.

Please take a moment to watch Patrick Caddell's speech at the September 21 AIM "ObamaNation" conference. Click here.

He said: "I think we're at the most dangerous time in our political history in terms of the balance of power in the role that the media plays in whether or not we maintain a free democracy."
