In this unprecedented time, the Connecticut Office of the Arts is thrilled to launch two (2) new funding opportunites for Connecticut artists and teaching artists: Connecticut Artists Respond and Connecticut Artists Relief grants.

“Artists and teaching artists are the movers, drivers and connectors of our creative economy. Their creative works spark joy and inspiration, and push us to question and understand. Investing in artists – particularly now – is just the right thing to do.”

CONNECTICUT ARTISTS RESPOND GRANTS
Deadline to Apply: Monday, May 4, 2020
The Connecticut Office of the Arts recognizes that artists help us through challenging times and is committed to investing in artists' ability to provide respite through inspiration, connection and education.

The Connecticut Artists Respond Grant Program provides funding to artists and teaching artists to support the creation and presentation of free and accessible on-line arts-based experiences, learning opportunities and services to audiences across Connecticut - and beyond - on the World Wide Web.

Grants for individuals artists are $1,000. Grants for an artist collaboration (two or more artists) are $2,000.

CONNECTICUT ARTISTS RELIEF GRANTS
Deadline to Apply: Monday, May 4, 2020
With events of all types being cancelled to reduce the spread of COVID-19, people who make income partially or fully through artist gigs, exhibits, events and freelance work are losing critical opportunities to support their well-being in our state.

The Connecticut Artists Relief Grant Program provides $500 grants to individual artists and teaching artists who live in Connecticut and whose creative practices and incomes are being adversely impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19). This is unrestricted funding that may be used for any kind of relief.

The Connecticut Office of the Arts will award 120 grants in the amount of $500. Due to limited funds and an anticipated high volume of applications, grantees will be randomly selected from the pool of eligible applicants.

Connecticut Artists Relief is supported in part with funding from the New England Foundation for the Arts.
