Carolina Guimarey has her The existential circulation: you make yourself as you become (2017, acrylic and pencil on paper, 50" x 60") in All In One, a show organized by Mercedes Arensberg, of the work of six artists, at her studio 30 Franklin St #2, Westport, Fri. Sept 8-Sat. Sept. 9, 6:30-8:30 pm. The show is designed "to reflect our understanding that every single being on this planet is part of every single other being." This work is from Carolina's Monolith series.
Ruben Marroquin is one of the artists participating in the Hispanic Heritage Month Art Show, opening at The Klein, this Thurs. Sept 7, 6-7:30pm. Ruben's piece at right is St Anthony's Fire (Araguaney; 2017, embroidered with cotton, linen, bamboo and metallic threads and synthetic slub). Click for larger image.

Melissa Bisbee Orme has seven paintings in Celebr8/ART, "a diverse exhibition of art and artists," opening at The Wilton Library Fri. Sept 8, 6-7:30pm. At right is Melissa's Break Out (2017, acrylic on paper, 29" X 36" framed, detail; click for larger image). She comments that 2017 is her year to break out as an artist and move to a new level of abstraction!
