News & Opportunities for Individual Creatives in

Fairfield County CT

February 2023

WELCOME NEW MEMBERS

Rita Daley Hannafin is a textile artist who revels in the simple act of placing one fabric next to another. She is attracted to the endless possibilities offered by the materials and techniques. Her inspiration comes from various visual and intellectual sources, and her camera is a trusty companion for visual documentation. It records interesting bits of the world around her, revealing curious combinations of color, shape and line. With ideas and visual stimulation to inspire her, she finds the meaning in 'doing.' This makes her passing sensations and ideas tactile and permanent.

In Kabul, Matin served as head of the Ceramics Department at the Turquoise Mountain Institute, an NGO founded by King Charles, III, where in his youth he studied and honed the skills inherited from his father.
