The Ballet School of Stamford at Chelsea Piers presents its annual Spring Performance, Hansel and Gretel, at 7 p.m., Friday, May 25th at The Palace Theatre in Stamford. Featuring 85 dancers, 2 pianos, and 4 singers. This delightful, family-friendly production of the classic fairy tale will appeal to audiences of all ages. Tickets here.
The Ballet School of Stamford’s two-act adaptation of Hansel and Gretel is choreographed by Megan Bonneau McCool, former dancer for New York City Ballet where she performed in original pieces by George Balanchine and Peter Martins. 

Hansel and Gretel’s beautiful opera score was composed by Engelbert Humperdinck, Its premier was Germany in 1893 under the baton of Richard Strauss, who called it a “masterpiece of the highest quality…” The Ballet School of Stamford’s production of Hansel and Gretel will be feature the school’s Music Director Lilla Khanina and a quartet of singers including Broadway veteran Frank Mastrone. Tickets prices are $10 to $50. Benefit tickets including premium seating and a pre-reception are available and will support the school scholarship and outreach program “Dance for All”. In its ongoing commitment to the Stamford community, the school will hold a FREE 10 a.m. morning performance for 1,200 local school children.  The 7 p.m. evening performance is open to the public and tickets are available at the Stamford Center for the Arts box office and website: palacestamford.org Ticket prices are $10 to $50. 

There will be a pre-show reception for the performance, which will include premium seating. Tickets prices for the reception and the show will be $100 for adults and will benefit the school’s scholarship program. Benefit tickets can be purchased by calling 203-989-1555. 
 
The Ballet School of Stamford was founded to provide excellent dance training for all children in the spring of 1998 with 50 students and no permanent home. Following their move to Chelsea Piers in September there are 350 children ages who study dance enrolled at the school and in our outreach program “Dance for All”.
