Howdy friends,
This one’s a bit special — we’re in County Derry, the place I’ve called home for many years.
If you’ve been following the Writing a Song in Every County in Ireland project, you’ll know that each song draws inspiration from the Psalms — those 3,000-year-old folk songs that still have something to say to us today.
For my home county, something really interesting came up — every one of the psalms had something to say about words… how we use them to bless or to harm, to heal or to wound.
That sparked this line, which might just become the heart of the County Derry song:
“They can heal or they can hurt, They can bless or they can curse, Choose your words well, my friend — use them well.”

Thanks, as always, for following along on this adventure — and for keeping the wheels of this project (and my van) turning.
Blessings, Andy
