Hi Friend,
Happy St. Patrick's day from Ireland!
Forget the green beer, corned beef, and leprechauns. St. Patrick never had anything to do that stuff.
And no, he didn’t drive snakes out of Ireland either. But what he did do was far more important.
Unlike the myths that have grown around him, Patrick left behind two authentic writings: The Confession and The Letter to Coroticus.
These are firsthand accounts of his life and mission, not hagiographies written centuries later.
Patrick was a man who knew hardship. As a teenager, he was kidnapped and sold into slavery in Ireland.
Years later, after escaping and returning home, he felt called back to the very land where he had been enslaved — to share the gospel.
In his own words, Patrick described himself as an "ignorant yokel," not a miracle-working superhero. His life wasn’t about legend—it was about faith, perseverance, and obedience.
In the next email, we’ll explore Patrick’s fight against something still relevant today: slavery and human trafficking.
Cheers - Andy
