It's finally here! The Texas Route 66 Festival kicks off today, launching 10 days of celebrations across Amarillo and the Texas stretch of the Mother Road.
From rodeos and cattle drives to car shows, live music, art, cruises, family activities, and iconic Route 66 experiences, there are 66+ events waiting to be explored as we celebrate the Route 66 Centennial.
Whether you're planning to join us for one event or all 10 days, now is the time to hit the road and experience the stories, communities, and adventures that make Texas Route 66 unlike anywhere else.
Step back into the Old West with the Coors Cowboy Club Cattle Drive & Parade, a true Amarillo tradition. Watch real cowboys and cowgirls lead a herd of Texas Longhorns through the heart of downtown, joined by classic cars, and so much more! Parade begins at 10 AM starting at 10th & Polk St.
2026 Parade Route
Starting north on Polk Street, the drive takes a right turn onto 3rd Street. From there, it continues to Marrs, turning right for a short stretch before making a left onto 10th Street. From there the Cattle Drive will head into the fairgrounds under the lighted arch. The cattle will cover the route in about an hour. Spectators are encouraged to cheer on the cattle and riders from any point along the route.
