Record Setting Recruitment
Gamma Rho's potential new members outside the Chapter House
Gamma Rho Bids Record 32 Members
Recruitment Chair Cooper Holmes ('14) led the chapter to its most successful rush week ever, attracting 32 young men as potential new members. "I'm so proud of our recruitment committee and all of the brothers who worked so hard this past fall to get one of our largest classes in recent history," Holmes said. The new members are diverse - they come from all over the country, study everything from engineering to cognitive science to journalism, and play on Northwestern’s hockey and ski teams. New Member Educator Garrett Becker ('14) will be helping the young men as they learn the traditions and rituals of Gamma Rho.

PIKE Co-hosts Hockey Philanthropy to Fight Cancer, Wins Tournament
This year Pi Kappa Alpha came together with the brothers of Phi Kappa Psi, Beta Theta Pi and Phi Delta Theta to organize Dropping the Puck on Cancer, an annual fundraiser among Northwestern Fraternities to raise money for the American Brain Tumor Association. The event is a hockey tournament among the fraternities, which Gamma Rho won. It began at Indiana University and has spread to a few other schools in the Midwest as well. Around 200 students attended, raising more than $5,000 for the cause. Brother Michael Gullott ('15) says plans for next year include expanding involvement from other fraternities as well as including sororities through events and activities that take place between the hockey games.

Pikes Head to Memphis
Brothers Elijah Wallace ('15), Daniel Thomas ('15), and Julian Rachko ('15) attended the Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity’s Chapter Executives Conference in Memphis, TN. The three-day event provided best practices and hands-on training for chapter presidents, treasurers, and recruitment chairmen. The men also got the chance to hear from University of Memphis President David Rudd about values-based leadership and decision making. "Being at a conference and getting the chance to learn from my peers made me feel like I was part of a great organization. I'm excited to bring back new ideas to improve our chapter," Thomas said.
