Subject: If you're not busy Friday, come build a BioSand Water Filter

And learn how we help children stay in school
friendly water for the world header

Hello,

Three feet down. How far is that? That short distance trip is all it takes to turn dirty water clean, to turn sickness into health, and to help kids remain in school.

This Friday, May 1st at noon (Pacific Standard Time), join Wayne Medrud, our very own Project Manager, to discover how to build a BioSand Water Filter; a cement box that can create 30 years of clean water every day for a family of ten people. BioSand Filters, using natural processes, have been shown to eliminate 95-99% of bacteria and viruses, and virtually all protozoa, amoebae, parasites, and worms.

Based on 1200-year-old technology, Wayne will both explain how to create and run a BioSand Water Filter, and why this low-cost and low-tech slow-sand filter is so effective in improving health and helping kids learn. All using local resources, local communities, and a little knowledge sharing.

We missed you at our Chat about India. We were excited to have participants join from nine countries! It's our very own mini-United Nations. David and special guest speakers Uma Raghavan and Ronelle Funk shared some important stories about how India is grappling with declining access to clean water and how we can help. There is hope. Perhaps best said by Noor Muhammad, a Rohingya refugee living in a camp filled with Friendly Water for the World BioSand Water Filters...

"This is the first time in seven years I have been here that anyone from the outside has treated us with love"
