In observation of Black History Month, it’s important to pause and remember something simple and profound:
Black history is not separate from American history. It IS American history.
The story of this country cannot be told without the contributions, resilience, creativity, leadership, and sacrifice of Black Americans. From industries built and innovations created, to movements that reshaped our laws, culture, and conscience, Black history is woven into the very fabric of America.
This month is not just about celebrating the contributions to America.
It’s about recognition.
It’s about truth.
And it’s about honoring voices and contributions that for too long were minimized, erased, conveniently omitted, or misunderstood.
When we take the time to learn the full story, we gain deeper empathy, stronger leadership, and a more honest vision for the future we are building together.
May this month be a reminder that progress comes from inclusion, understanding, and the courage to acknowledge history fully so we can lead forward wisely.
