Subject: ALERT Alumni | March Update

Dear ALERT Alumni,

After several busy weeks of training and deployments it’s probably a good time to send out an update on things happening around here as well as items of prayer we can be passing along to you.

Our second phase (ERT) unit did the “divide and conquer” thing for deployments this past semester and joined Samaritans Purse on tornado recovery work in Albany, GA and Hattiesburg, Mississippi. With approximately 20 guys deployed at each site much was accomplished for the kingdom and we are grateful for the opportunity God gave to us in serving others. You’re welcome to join us on a deployment in the future if the hosting organization has the space. Drop me a line and I’ll put you on our contact list. Being the hands and feet of Jesus – whether cutting up trees, pulling branches, singing at meals or great fellowship with like-minded individuals is what it’s all about.

Our EMT’s and ESO unit also deployed to Hungerford, Texas to help with the rebuild of a Christian- based center for those struggling with addictions.

Back on the home front R-night for Unit 57 took place last Friday night. We are starting with 27 for this current unit – a bit lower than we had hoped for but are trusting God to take this small army of men and forge them into the type of individuals who will be special warriors in the battles they’ll encounter in their culture.

On a personal note I would like to make a recommendation of a DVD video series that has had a huge impact on the lives of those that have seen it. “The Conquer Series” is a powerful five DVD set message on winning the battle of pornography addiction. Its approach and knowledge of the subject is unique to anything I’ve ever seen and I would highly recommend it to any of you having battles in this arena or looking for solid “out of the box” material that will help someone else. Feel free to contact me for more details and possibly some group discount on ordering if enough guys show interest. Visit their website at conquerseries.com for more information.

Prayer requests:
  • Pray for Unit 57 as they begin their journey. You all understand the challenges they face in the next nine weeks.
  • Please be in prayer for Simeon Wallace – Unit 51 as he recovers from major stomach surgery related to Crohn’s disease. It will necessitate a career change for him and he needs encouragement in these difficult days.
  • We need your prayers for wisdom in reaching more men for the ALERT program. Our future depends on our enrollment and former ALERT men are our best form of advertising. Whatever you can do, or if there is any way we can equip you to spread the word let us know. I have some additional ideas if you’d like to give me a call.
  • Continue to pray for the Drew Papillon (Unit 16) family, and the Zeek family (Jonathan Zeek, Unit 38 and William Zeek, Unit 56). Drew passed away last fall after a long battle with a brain tumor and Mrs. Zeek, mother of Jonathan and William passed away a few weeks ago after a long illness. Tough days for these families and they need our support.
Become part of the intercessory prayer team by sending your requests on to me for publishing. If you are reading this letter via social media but would like to receive it directly, drop me a line and I’ll add you to the mailing list.

God bless and have a great week.
