August greetings to our Alumni:

We’re at the halfway point of the summer semester and things are going well. ERT has just finished their dive training and are headed out to south Texas for two different rebuild deployments with Samaritans Purse: one in Rockport and the other in Pearland. Pray for their safety as well as opportunities along the way to share the gospel with those they come in contact with.
Our EMT class continues with their studies along with an occasional clinical trip and on-campus scenarios. As most of you know a lot of material is covered in a short amount of time and the pressure can be a bit intense with regular quizzes and tests a part of the schooling process.


Our leadership class will be headed on their D.C. trip in about week which is always a highlight of that venue. Again, pray for the safety and attentiveness of the drivers and that the interaction between the men would be meaningful and edifying.

Other notes:
We praise God for the funds and provision of a 2011 Suburban that will give greater freedom for some of our younger drivers to use. This vehicle will be ideal for sending smaller groups out on deployment.
We are grateful for God’s provision of scholarship funds that have enabled us to assist 8-9 men already for this upcoming Basic. Lack of funding is the number one reason many are not able to attend Basic or future training so your gifts to this designated fund are particularly valuable. Thanks to all those who have blessed our attendees in this manner.

Two more Conquer Series events are on the horizon for anyone interested. The first is the weekend of September 13-15 in Waynesburg, PA. The second will be held here on campus November 1-3. For those that might not be aware this is a ten part series of that deals with the addictive behavior of pornography and steps to freedom. Please consider attending one of these two event by calling me for details at 903-714-3481. It is not limited to ALERT Alumni so if you have a friend, brother, dad or pastor that you think might benefit pass on this invitation to them. The price of $44 that covers everything is as affordable as weekend events can be, so please prayerfully consider attending.
