| The harmonium is a hand pumped reed-organ which developed out of the merging of European and Indian traditions during the colonization of India. Adapting droning Indian music sounds to a western keyboard layout, the harmonium is an acoustic instrument which has many versatile uses. Most commonly heard in Indian Classical Music, Kirtan and sacred chant music, the harmonium works well for sound baths, meditations, and anywhere that drones and melodies resonate.
Didge Project currently stocks 3 harmonium models, each with a set of unique features. |

| | | The bamboo drone flute by La Rosa Flutes in Perú is a professional quality instrument with an incredible resonance.
Simply playing both barrels of the flute with minimal fingering knowledge will empower the player to create a huge sound ideal for taking the listeners on a fantastic journey. Combining ease of creating sound (simply blow into the mouthpiece) with a simple 5-hole fingering system which renders a minor pentatonic scale, the bamboo drone flute is a marvel of an instrument.

| Flute of the Ancestors by La Rosa |
| The Flute of the Ancestors, also known as the Abuelo Flute, is a traditional Andean-style bamboo overtone flute made by La Rosa Flutes, the company founded by master Andean flute player Tito La Rosa. Description for this instrument given by its designer, Tito La Rosa:
“The Flute of the Ancestors gives you strength to elevate yourself. It is not simply a flute; it is a staff of power. It can accompany your dance, remind you of your origins and also make sound. It’s characteristic is to produce harmonics over a fundamental sound. Over this fundamental sound it creates harmonics upward, but it always returns to the mother sound [the tonic] which is found in the middle, below and also above.Continued

Project is a blog, youtube channel, series of courses and events,
instrument store and a collective of musicians who want to help you use
music as a tool for uplifting yourself and others around you.
On
our site you will find tips and tutorials to help you become a better
musician, didgeridoo lessons, instrument features and reviews, and
reports on the latest scientific research and spiritual discoveries
merging through the medium of sound.
When
we began in 2008 our main focus was on teaching how to play the
didgeridoo, a wind instrument originating in aboriginal Australia and
also said to be present in ancient Mayan times. After working with
countless people it became apparent that most musicians play multiple
instruments and that we have the community resources to help all
musicians get better results. While we still provide didgeridoo lessons,
classes and programs, our focus is to provide tutorials for music and
instruments from all around the world. Visit us for great music
resources at didgeproject.com. |
