One word that has come up in leadership training circles for the past few years is “empathy”. Empathy is the awareness of and ability to vicariously feel or experience another’s thoughts, feelings or experiences without having lived them yourself.
I think that without empathy, you’re communicating at someone not with them. There is a difference, right?
When it comes to a human approach to building relationships, empathy is an essential skill to communicating with care, and further, to know how to offer quality support.
During the toughest months of the pandemic, we offered a program whereby we donated 2% of the value of our customers’ orders for branded gifts and tools, to their favourite charity. It was incredibly well-received and enabled us to support a variety of programs in multiple countries BUT it ended December 24th, 2020.
Then another HUGE wave of empathy kicked in and we decided to resurrect Communicate with Care EXCLUSIVELY for Aha! Insiders Club members.
