Steve Jobs used to say that you can only connect the dots backwards.
I love this, because it reminds us that everything happens for a reason. When we take a step in a new direction, we have no idea now how we will get where we are headed, who we will meet along the way, nor can we predict the exact outcome.
I think that is why “experience” is the best teacher, and the essence of what we call A Human Approach.
Experience teaches us that we have no control over an outcome, but in hindsight, we have enormous influence over it. And when we dare to push the envelope of learning – say YES more often - and regularly challenge ourselves to expand our minds and give of our talents, “experience” rewards us with great value through magnificent lessons.
When I look back, it occurs to me that I have been training for this day for over 25 years. Through the highs and lows of that “training”, my dad always reminded me, “Life is good, Ginger 🙂” (and always with a smiley face at the end).
We’ve made millions of dollars for hundreds of brands, built thousands of quality relationships, won I-don’t-know-how-many awards, experienced life all-in, and the secret to all of it has been A Human Approach – something that you and I can access every day, if we know how to find it.
Yep, dad, life is good… and the best is yet to come.
Are you ready?
You’re one Aha! away from living your best life.
