The Beautiful Death That Gave Me Life

There comes a time when the old you—no matter how loved, how adorned, how comfortable—must die. That version of self, once exalted and admired, becomes a shell too small for the spirit now yearning to expand. I have come to that threshold. And I chose growth.

To choose growth is to bury the beautiful familiar. It is to grieve the comfort of yesterday’s skin while reaching boldly for the garment of destiny. Growth and comfort cannot coexist. They are two universes, parallel but never intersecting. The decision must be made: remain encased in the known or emerge into the sacred wild of the unknown. I have chosen the unknown.

I have spent the past few days walking amongst the ruins of the ancient gods of Egypt. Underneath the unblinking sun of the Nile, I entered into deep meditation with the pantheon. I spoke with Ra. I sat with Sekhmet. I washed my sins in the eternal Nile. There, in that divine cradle of civilization, I chose to be reborn.

This choice is not just about me—it is about all of us. It is a spiritual revolt against the tide of hatred, division, and fear that currently permeates our world. It is a dive into the self, a deep soul excavation to unearth something truer, brighter, more loving. It is the realization that to forgive is not to forget, but to be free. And in that freedom, there is profound peace.

Being a good person in a world consumed by chaos is not weakness—it is rebellion. And in this abundant universe, I am witness to the truth: we are always provided for. What is meant for you cannot be taken—not by others, not by time, not even by you. You can delay it, doubt it, even try to destroy it—but your destiny is patient. It will find you. It is finding me.

Something magical is unfolding, and I have no words for it. It’s a frequency. A vibration. A light growing so bright within me that even those who cannot understand it are drawn to it—or afraid of it. And I now understand: it is not for them to understand. It is for me to protect. To live out loud. To embody the divine.

This is the space I invite you into—one of transformation, elevation, and unfiltered love. As founder of AfriKin, I offer not just an art fair, but a movement. AfriKin Art Fair 2025 is not merely an event; it is a call to remembrance. A call to creation. A celebration of identity, purpose, and the divine spark within each of us. Through Creation, We Find Meaning.

So I stand here today, rebirthed and overflowing with gratitude. I wish I had the words to describe this joy of simply being alive. But perhaps words are not needed. Perhaps it is only action—only light—that will suffice. So I will shine. I will love. I will travel. I will explore. I will be. And through my becoming, may you find your permission to begin.
