Subject: June Photo Comp Winner 📸

Cheetah Cubs Climb Trees… Then Climb Mum!

Playtime to the max! Watch the adorable cheetah cubs show off their climbing skills as they scramble up the tree before tumbling right onto their patient mum.

We’re happy to announce that Marijke is the winner of our June Photo Competition with her stunning image of a caracal drinking at Lentorre.

The theme for June was “Foodies”, and Marijke captured it perfectly with this beautiful moment of a caracal pausing to drink - a glimpse into the quiet rituals that sustain these elusive predators.

👏 Congratulations, Marijke! Your photo truly celebrates the beauty and raw authenticity of wildlife in their daily quest for food and water.

Know Your Baboons: Spot the Difference on SafariSnaps!

Did you know we see three different baboon species on Africam?

Here’s a quick guide to help you identify and tag them correctly on SafariSnaps:

🟤 Chacma Baboons
📍 Where: Southern Africa cameras (e.g. Kruger cams, Tembo Plains, The Hide)
🔍 Look for: Large size, dark grey-brown fur, and a dog-like face with a long muzzle. They’re the biggest baboons in Africa!

🟢 Olive Baboons
📍 Where: Lentorre and Serengeti Explorer
🔍 Look for: Greenish-grey fur with a shaggy appearance and a long, dog-like snout. Very social and often seen in large troops.

💛 Yellow Baboons
📍 Where: ol Donyo
🔍 Look for: Slimmer build, golden-yellow fur with a white underside, and a more narrow face. Often seen feeding in open areas.

SafariSnaps Tagging Tip:
When snapping baboons, check their fur colour, size, and location to tag them correctly. This helps build our community’s wildlife knowledge and makes your snaps stand out!
