Know Your Baboons: Spot the Difference on SafariSnaps!
Did you know we see three different baboon species on Africam? Here’s a quick guide to help you identify and tag them correctly on SafariSnaps:
🟤 Chacma Baboons 📍 Where: Southern Africa cameras (e.g. Kruger cams, Tembo Plains, The Hide) 🔍 Look for: Large size, dark grey-brown fur, and a dog-like face with a long muzzle. They’re the biggest baboons in Africa!
🟢 Olive Baboons 📍 Where: Lentorre and Serengeti Explorer 🔍 Look for: Greenish-grey fur with a shaggy appearance and a long, dog-like snout. Very social and often seen in large troops.
💛 Yellow Baboons 📍 Where: ol Donyo 🔍 Look for: Slimmer build, golden-yellow fur with a white underside, and a more narrow face. Often seen feeding in open areas.
