Subject: Africam Subscriptions Just Got Simpler (and Better!)

Now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for has arrived. Our black eagle chick is on the verge of fledging - preparing to take its very first flight.

Did you know?

  • Verreaux’s Eagles typically fledge at around 95–99 days old.

  • After their first flight, young eagles remain close to the nest for several weeks, still relying on their parents for food and protection.

  • Learning to fly is a gradual process - fledglings start with short hops and glides before mastering the art of soaring across the cliffs.

Congratulations to Katelyn Mae, whose stunning capture of a lioness with her cubs at Lentorre stole the show. The theme was “Animals Together” and what better symbol of togetherness than a protective mother and her little ones?

Katelyn wins an Africam mug featuring her winning photo.

Now it’s your turn!

📸 September’s theme is “Single” - celebrate the beauty of a lone animal in the wild.

September, 6th is Vulture Awareness Day, a time to celebrate one of nature’s most important (and often misunderstood) birds.

Vultures are the ultimate clean-up crew. By feeding on carcasses, they help prevent the spread of disease, recycle nutrients back into the ecosystem, and keep Africa’s wilderness in balance.

Sadly, many vulture species are endangered due to poisoning, habitat loss, and human conflict - making their conservation more important than ever.
