12 Days
4th Sunday of Advent
The 12 days of Christmas begins on Christmas day and ends on the 5th of January.

Advent is concluded with Epiphany on the 6th of January.

Epiphany commemorates when Christ was manifested to the Gentiles (the Magi)

The Magi, those pagans who followed a star for a very long time in hopes of meeting the fulfillment of their studies and wonderings.

The Magi, those Gentiles who came to find the Jewish baby born in a feeding trough.

These Magi had faith that the writing they had studied would manifest in a real human being, thus they took gifts to offer to Jesus.
Intentional reflections:
Consider taking each day of the 12 days to focus on the article of faith that the symbol represents.

For example:

6th day of Christmas
6 geese a laying-6 days of Creation

Take time to read the account in Genesis of the the 6 days that God created life. Gen. 1:31-2:2
As you read of each element created, ponder how you might enjoy this element more if you remembered that it was God who created it for our good and for His glory.
And spend some time with God the Father as He shows you how He rested on the 7th day.

9th day of Christmas
9 ladies dancing-9 fruits of the Spirit
Galatians 5:22-23:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

With eyes closed and hands opened upward, ask the Lord to reveal to you one of these that has been harder for you lately. When you know which one, ask Jesus to walk with you in the journey to live more fully in the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

12th day of Christmas
12 drummers drumming-12 articles of the Apostles Creed

I believe in God the Father, maker of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, we crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended into hell; the third day he rose from the dead.
He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty.

He shall return to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy catholic church, the communion of saints,
The fo
rgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body,
And life everlasting.
