Open Doors is a new initiative allowing members to
showcase their practice
in a real life setting. The informal meetings provide valuable insights into what works, what doesn’t, and what to try.
Find out about hosting a meeting...
In 2014 Renfrewshire Council launched a new
accommodation service for care leavers. Working with 10 young people at a time, they have successfully overcome operational changes, and improved the ethos and culture of the service.
On 15th March 2017 from 4.00pm - 6.30pm,
Renfrewshire Council will open its doors to showcase the initiative. This is a great opportunity for Staf members to find out about the scheme and chat with staff and young people.
Staf is renowned for providing invaluable learning and development opportunities. This
not only reflects the needs of the sector, but also
supports the continuing professional development of front-line practitioners and managers working with care-experienced
young people. Find out about our training modules:
  • Continuing care, aftercare and corporate parenting
  • Understand the issues faced by care-experienced young people
  • Understand the impact of new legislation
  • Understand the role of aftercare services and the support they offer young people
  • How to build positive relationships and support care-experienced young people
