When you give to Habitat, your support goes directly towards helping families in need.

Tara and her four-year-old son had been living with her family prior to purchasing her Habitat home. The Habitat for Humanity program requires substantial time and effort from families. Tara put in hundreds of hours learning financial and home maintenance skills, as well as building Habitat homes (including her own). Tara closed on her home, bringing the hope of a stable future for herself and her son.

“The foundation of a new home will improve not only my life but the life of my child. There is so much pride and honor in having a place to call home.” -Tara

Bev has lived in her current home for many years, but it had fallen into disrepair. She wasn’t able to make the repairs on her own. Since partnering with Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity, Bev has developed a relationship with the construction team. She looks forward to volunteering with Habitat in the future and is so thankful for the work that has been completed on her home.

“My house feels like a home again. Every time I get up or come in from work, I feel like I’m home.”
-Bev
Skyler is a hard-working, kind, and gentle person. He and his daughter have been on their own since 2010. Skyler’s mother, Debi, has stepped in to help care for her grand-daughter, a strong, bright, and caring child. Debi has been a huge help over the last few years, as Skyler works full-time. These three people have endured many things, and the family works hard to improve their circumstances.

“There is nothing we would appreciate more than a place of our own where we can finally feel at home.”
-Skyler
