What does 'home for the holidays' mean to you?

Today I was visiting with one of my co-workers about the expression, 'home for the holidays.' Being a new homeowner, I was curious about her thoughts. She said:

The holidays do have a special meaning now that we have our own home.
Then I thought of Deb (pictured above).
Deb recently purchased her Habitat home, and she has been more excited than ever before about hosting holiday meals in her home. Three years ago, Deb didn't think she could own a home. Now she has her own affordable home in which she can celebrate the holidays and create wonderful memories with her granddaughter. But Deb couldn't do it on her own - she needed volunteers to teach, build and support; she needed donors to help fund the work; and she needed staff to encourage her on her journey. Deb's home wouldn't be possible without all of these people.
How do you celebrate the holidays?
Many Habitat families haven't been able to celebrate the holidays in a traditional way because they haven't had a home to celebrate in. How does a home impact the holidays? Deb's home allowed her to have people over for the first time. Some families are able to afford their own tree because they have an affordable mortgage. Some families are warmer because they have had a window or door replaced. How would this make a difference for you?

That's where you come in!
You have already made such a difference in the lives of many families. In 2019 alone, you have helped more than 35 families! This good work can't happen without you. Would you consider making a year end donation to support our next home? We have a goal of raising another $20,000 toward a home at 1024 Dilger Ave. We are 64% toward that goal! Please consider helping us raise the remaining funds by December 31, 2019.
