Subject: Hawthorne Family Receives Keys to New Home

6 Homes, 1 Year
Thank you for your support! With your help in FY 14-15, Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity completed and dedicated it's 6th home to a qualified Habitat partner family. Volunteers have completed 93 houses to date.  Employed as a CNA at Regional Hospital in Custer, SD, Raean Hawthorne invested over 250 hours of volunteer labor into the Habitat program. The home was purchased with an affordable, no interest mortgage, and the family will be supported by the Black Hills Area Habitat Southern Hills Committee that is comprised of local volunteer residents, pastors and business leaders. The Hawthorne family thanked all those who worked so hard to help them reach this goal.
A home is a place we can enjoy, (it is) a blessing from God. It’s a fresh start, new beginnings—a safe place that grows with me and my family.”
--Raean & Sandy Hawthorne

Why we build
When we dedicate a home, we stand together on the side of hope, justice and opportunity. We agree that the past does not dictate the future and we believe that together, we can do far more than any of us could do on our own.
Happy Birthday to Habitat- 25 Years of Compassion
In celebrating our 25th Anniversary, Habitat volunteers have completed 93 houses in the Black Hills, helping 320 men, women, and children find a home.
