April 2021

Dear Faith Partners,

It is safe to say our Faith Build 2020 didn't exactly go according to plan. Our goal was to complete the home on Red Cloud by December 31st, but due to closures, delays, and material scarcity we were unable to receive the certificate of occupancy until March. Our hope is to have Qwauna and her daughter, Averie, into their new home in May. We ask for continued prayer for this family as they take the final steps to homeownership.

Our team is so grateful for Thrivent Financials' partnership, grace, and guidance through this difficult year. We would also like to thank all the Churches who financially supported the project with a special shout out to the United Methodist Churches for coming together to support the Faith Build. Building a home for Qwauna would not have been possible without you.

In Faith,

Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity

God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.

Psalm 46:5

When Qwauna joined the Habitat program in 2019, she was not only skeptical about her abilities, but the power of God and community. “Before the program I wasn’t sure about hope or community. I didn’t think either existed, but today I am certain without either I would not be where I am today”
