Light the Way!
What makes a great neighborhood? Lighting.

Feeling safe and welcomed is a priority.  Through resident interactions and surveys over the past year in the Garfield neighborhood, the most expressed need was for more lighting.

Thanks to a partnership with Black Hills Energy, 100 residents in this neighborhood have the opportunity to receive a FREE motion-activated adapter and LED light bulb.

Join us on Saturday, November 4th,11am-1pm at Horace Mann Elementary to distribute the lighting items and enjoy hot beverages and snacks.
Neighborhood Pride
On Friday, October 20th, residents and community members got together and helped install 17 BEAUTIFUL street flags on various light poles in the College Park neighborhood. Thanks to NeighborWorks Dakota Home Resources for their grant, residents in the neighborhood now have something they’ve designed hanging in their streets for all to see!

On Saturday, November 4th, the Garfield Neighborhood will receive 13 additional flags that symbolize this historic neighborhood.

Changing Perceptions

Habitat has the opportunity to participate in a resident-led initiative aimed at creating a neighborhood brand that reflects the best qualities of North Rapid. Thanks to the Community Leadership Grant with NeighborWorks, we will be working with residents and community members on developing various programs that help a neighborhood show off everything great about it.
