Who is the servicer of your mortgage? It might be Shellpoint dba NewRez or any one of dozens of others. Are you making your mortgage payments to them? If so, I have good news for you!
One of our sharp and engaged members of Fireside Chats has discovered a little known law in the US Code. This law says, to paraphrase: "The servicer shall not be treated as the owner of the obligation" the net result being that they are not entitled to receive payments on behalf of the obligee (holder in due course).
Obviously, if you connect the dots, any payments sent to a servicer of any consumer debt were done unlawfully and according to law you would be entitled to a refund.
The Administrative Processes that we use with commercial law would be more than sufficient to make a valid claim 'Extra Judicially' (outside of court). Then the Ecclesiastical Jural Assembly just adds 'Heft' to the process if needed.
