A couple of years ago I had business in the Republic of Georgia which was previously a satellite republic of The Soviet Union. Georgia is a country at the intersection of Eastern Europe and Western Asia. I was having discussions with David, head of the Wealth Management Department of the Bank of Georgia. We sat at a beautiful large flat conference table and were having a pleasant conversation about topics of the day when he pushed a button and to my surprise, the flat gold plate in the center of the table started rising. It came to a full stop once the portable bar was fully exposed . I immediately thought to myself, "these guys know how to do business!"

The Bank of Georgia had previously been the Central Bank of Georgia and was situated in a glorious refurbished historical building. |

David was very pleased to give me a tour of the bank's primary vault. I was expecting to see rows of gold and drawers full of cash and other treasures. However, Georgians are apparently very aware of the fleeting value of fiat currency.
What I saw instead was deemed much more valuable...... |

The vault contained nothing but racks and racks of Georgia's finest wines which are very highly esteemed and deservedly so!
I was thinking that there might be a lesson in here somewhere!
