bauhaus forever. is a uniquely structured film about the birth of ideas and how their meaning and influence can grow over time. Although the Bauhaus existed for only 14 years, it became one of the most important cultural movements of the 20th century,
Director Nico Weber is a Berlin-based artist and filmmaker and the founder of the NOW Collective. Trained as a philosopher, she has worked as both a journalist and filmmaker. Her films explore philosophical, political, and cultural questions, and she has developed a distinctive, associative, and highly idiosyncratic cinematic language. Weber will be in New York for Q&As following each screening.
We are excited to welcome ADFF Alumni (Inside Poroa 2021) Nico back to ADFF with bauhaus forever. The new film takes a unique look at the legacy and continuing relevance of the Bauhaus through the construction of the new addition to the Bauhaus Archive in Berlin. Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius and his firm, The Architects Collaborative, designed the original museum; Staab Architekten designed the current addition. |
