ADFF is thrilled to launch our 2024/25 season. This is our 16th year, and once again, we’ll be showing the best documentaries about architecture and design from around the world. After viewing hundreds of films, the programming team narrowed it down to 18 exceptional design stories.

This year's slate of films is as good as it gets! I don't think we have ever had such a strong lineup. We have films featuring influential design leaders including Eileen Gray, Denis Scott Brown, Robert Venturi, Carlo Scarpa, Emilio Ambasz, Ada Karmi-Melamede, Rudolph Schindler, Laurie Olin, Janine Benyus, Winy Maas, Robin Dondalson, and Thom Mayne. We'll showcase important stories about the power of design to create community, how architects and the environment are fundamentally connected, and the intersection of housing and humanity.

The first festival of the season is ADFF:NY, which will be held September 25-28 at the Village East by Angelika, located in the heart of the East Village on 2nd Ave and 12th Street.

Our opening night film will be the world premiere of Stardust: The Story of Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown. After the film, Gabrielle Esperdy will moderate a Q&A with Jim Venturi and Martin Filler. Tickets are on sale now. Click here for the full lineup of films.

Save the dates

ADFF:Toronto, presented by Eventscape, will once again take place at the TIFF Lightbox Theatre on October 23-26, 2024. Tickets will go on sale September 23.

ADFF:Vancouver presented by All in Pictures and Vancouver Special will take place November 6-10, 2024. We will have an opening night screening and celebration at the Hollywood Theatre. The rest of the festival will take place at the VIFF Center. Tickets will go on sale October 1.

ADFF:LA will take place November 19-23, 2024. This year's festival will be at the Writers Guild Theatre in Beverly Hills and the Culver Theatre in Culver City. Tickets will go on sale October 8.

ADFF:Mumbai will take place January 9-12, 2025 at the National Center of Performing Arts (NCPA) in Mumbai. We are partnering with STIR and looking forward to bringing ADFF to South Asia.

ADFF:Chicago presented by the Chicago Architecture Center will take place January 29-February 2, 2025. This year we will be at the Gene Siskel Film Center.
