Humanity in Architecture presented by Grace Farms & ADFF Venue: Grace Farms in New Canaan, CT
Grace Farms and ADFF have teamed up to curate an extra special selection of films from the last 16 years of ADFF programming. This group of films demonstrates the humanity inherent to architectural processes and the power of architecture to create community.
On Friday night, January 24, we will have one screening– Strange and Familiar: Architecture on Fogo Island. This film had its US premiere as the opening night film of ADFF:NY 2016. It follows tech entrepreneur Zita Cobb as she attempts to reinvigorate a rural fishing community. Strange and Familiar asks audiences to consider how architecture can connect us to our past while still forging a path forward. After the screening, Zita Cobb and Grace Farms CEO Sharon Price will join us to discuss architecture as a community-building tool.
On Saturday, January 25, we will screen 10 films at three different locations within Grace Farms' campus. This selection of films is specific to Grace Farms' vision– "to advance good in the world, providing a peaceful respite and porous platform to experience nature, encounter the arts, pursue justice, foster community, and explore faith."
