We want to provide an update to ADFF’s 2021/2022 schedule given the latest news and guidelines about the coronavirus.
This year’s season will be a hybrid of both in-person and virtual programming.
In-person festivals
In the US, we no longer plan to host public screenings for ADFF:NY and ADFF:LA which were scheduled for September and October, respectively. ADFF:DC is still scheduled to move forward as planned from January 6-9, 2022.
In Canada, in-person festivals are moving forward at ADFF:Toronto from Nov 3-7, and ADFF:Vancouver from Nov 10-13.
Virtual programming
We have moved up the dates for ADFF:ONLINE to Nov 17 - Dec 3, 2021. ADFF:ONLINE will feature the full roster of new films for the 2021/2022 season.
Each film will have a special introduction and Q&As from the filmmakers and others involved with the film and will be viewable on-demand from any device, or with APPLE TV and ROKU. ADFF:ONLINE will run through the Thanksgiving weekend so you’ll be able to enjoy any of these captivating films with family and friends during the holiday from anywhere in the US and Canada.
A special screening at MoMA, and other pop-up events planned
On October 22nd ADFF will host the premiere, in-person screening of Benji & Jono Bergmann’s MAU at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). MAU is the first-ever, feature-length documentary about the design visionary Bruce Mau. After the screening there will be a Q&A with Bruce Mau, Bisi Williams and the filmmakers. MAU will also be featured at all in-person festivals and virtually as part of ADFF:ONLINE.
ADFF is planning additional in-person, pop-up screenings in NY and other cities this fall. These screenings will be announced in September and throughout the fall.
The complete ADFF:2021/2022 program will be officially announced during the month of September. As always, check our website for the most up-to-date schedule.
