Position Opening at the ACMS – UB Office: Cultural Heritage Program Assistant

The American Center for Mongolian Studies (ACMS) is a private, non-profit educational organization that supports academic projects and exchanges in Mongolia and the Inner Asian region, which includes Mongolia and the neighboring areas of China, Russia and Central Asia. The ACMS Cultural Heritage Program (CHP) is a Henry Luce Foundation funded initiative that is designed to encourage cultural heritage related scholarship, preservation, and education in Mongolia. The types of projects sponsored by the CHP are far ranging, but include fellowships, collaborations with museums and other cultural heritage institutions, lectures, workshops and conferences.

The ACMS is looking for a Cultural Heritage Program Assistant, who will:
• Maintain and expand ACMS CHP programs, events and resources
• Develop the digital database
• Facilitate the research activities of international scholars working in Mongolia
• Act as liaison and representative for ACMS cultural heritage-related activities
• Assist in oral and written translation from both Mongolian to English and vice versa
• Assist in the development and identification of new programs and funding sources to support the mission of the ACMS CHP
• Assist in the operation of the ACMS office

Requirements:
The ideal candidate for this position will be a motivated professional with a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university, advanced interpersonal skills, strong computer/IT skills, fluent Mongolian, upper-intermediate English (written and spoken), strong research skills, and the ability to work well with a team. A solid understanding of cultural heritage or related fields is preferred.
