About: Join our live webinar to hear information and ask questions related to the ACMS Mongolia Field School and ACMS Fellowship Programs for summer 2019. The Field School program instructors will introduce their courses and answer questions related to the program, application, fellowships, academic credits, etc.

Additionally, hear a brief overview of each of the fellowship programs offered by the ACMS including, Field Research Fellowship, Library Fellowship and Intensive Mongolian Language Program. You will be able to ask questions and gain additional information during the live session. You may also send questions before or after the session to info@mongoliacenter.org.

Overview of ACMS Mongolia 2019 Fellowship Opportunities:

ACMS Mongolia Field School: The first annual interdisciplinary Mongolia Field School hosted by the ACMS will be held from July 29-August 16, 2019 in Ulaanbaatar and field sites near Lake Hovsgol in northern Mongolia. The Field School is open to all participants, including undergraduate and graduate students, teachers at all levels and life-long learners interested in academic studies and research that explore Mongolia's unique history, culture and contemporary issues. Fellowships are available for the program. Priority deadline is February 15, 2019; final deadline April 30, 2019.

ACMS Field Research Fellowship: Provides awards of up $4,000 to students and/or university faculty who are US citizens to conduct academic field research in Mongolia between May and October. The fellowship is supported with funding from the US Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs through a grant by the Council of American Overseas Research Centers. Deadline for receipt of complete applications: February 15, 2019.

ACMS Library Fellowship: Provides advanced graduate students or faculty in library sciences or related fields, and who are US citizens, with up to $4,000 to conduct short-term projects and/or research in Mongolia between May and October. This program helps support the development of the ACMS research library through specific defined projects designed to enhance the collection content and resource availability. The fellowship is supported with funding from the US Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs through a grant by the Council of American Overseas Research Centers. Deadline for receipt of complete applications: February 15, 2019.

ACMS Intensive Mongolian Language Program: Students and scholars are invited to enroll in an eight week Intermediate Intensive Mongolian Language Program at the ACMS in Ulaanbaatar, from June 10 to August 9, 2019. The focus of this program is to provide students with an opportunity to enhance their communicative competence through systematic improvement of reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, in an authentic environment. A limited number of fellowships are available, and they cover some or all of the cost of tuition ($2,000). Deadline for receipt of applications: March 1, 2019.
