2025 was a banner year for the American Center for Mongolian Studies. From Field Schools and K-12 teacher development programs to in-person and virtual lectures, workshops, and conferences, we kept ourselves busy supporting cultural and academic research and exchange for our members, supporters, participants, and other community members.
Many of those who benefit the most from our services, programs, and resources are young students, scholars, researchers, teachers, scientists, and professionals with an interest in and passion for Mongolia. They come to ACMS from a variety of fields to learn about Mongolian language, history, culture, conservation, wildlife management, archaeology, and more. Along the way, they receive once-in-a-lifetime opportunities that open new professional doors and expand personal horizons.
California K-12 teachers participating in an in-country professional development seminar learned how to incorporate lessons featuring Mongolian culture, history, and material objects into their lesson plans back in the U.S., which will inspire students for years to come.
Field School participants from all over the world worked together to build a ger, learn proper felt-making techniques, excavate Bronze Age burial sites, and track elusive wildlife in Hustai National Park.
Intensive Summer Mongolian Language Program students visited a herder family outside Terelj National Park, where they practiced their Mongolian language skills while gaining hands-on experience making traditional Mongolian dairy products.
And over 450 people attended our in-person Speaker Series lectures, online programs, and Denver Conference, or visited our office to volunteer, use our Research Library, or seek other in-country support.
So this year, be the future of Mongolian Studies by supporting ACMS so that we can continue to provide the invaluable services, life-changing programs, and eye-opening events that form the bedrock of this community.
Be the future of experiential learning.
Be the future of K-12 teaching.
Be the future of cultural exchange.
Help us meet our $2,000 Giving Tuesday goal today to be the future of ACMS.
Thank you for your support.
