Two recent studies identified strategies which could save hospitals around $5,000 per-PCI.
Systematic use of bleeding avoidance strategies is "far from established," writes study authors, but prioritizing their use could save hospitals $4,738 per patient. Plus, same-day discharge for elective PCI has been found to be safe for patients, and result in $5,128 savings per patient.

That's not all—new studies inform risk profiles that could make a significant difference in patient outcomes. Breaking news just published in the JACC suggests one risk score can identify which patients would benefit from a statin regimen and which would not.
