Dear Wilbur Friends and Family,

In all of history there have been secular places of sanctuary where people go for refuge and safety. Wilbur Hot Springs has been a place of sanctuary for hundreds, or thousands, of years.

Our country is presently deeply divided along political lines. Some people are celebrating the presidential election while others are crying and angry.

Spending time at Wilbur is an opportunity to literally, and completely, leave the outside world, very much including politics, and immerse in true sanctuary where there is abundant space to be where personal respect and dignity prevail 24/7 (and cell phones and computers are left behind).
While at Wilbur we are all one tribe of people, regardless of our size, shape, color, height, weight, religion, sexual orientation, finances, ethnic background or political party.

I believe that making time for sanctuary is essential for mental and physical health. That is why I spend time at Wilbur at least once, and most often twice, monthly. I prefer to do prevention than break down on the road of life's highway.

While I recognize my Wilbur plan is not realistic for most of you, there is a plan you can make work.

Come to Wilbur and join me and lets give thanks .... all year round for we all share the gift of life.
And say hello next time you are at Wilbur.

We are the very tall couple with smiling eyes and laughing hearts,

Richard & Jolee
Caretakers, Wilbur Hot Springs

Did you know? In the 1880’s, guests of Wilbur Hot Springs would travel on the Southern Pacific Railroad to Williams, California and then travel an additional 22 miles to the springs, a four-hour trip by stagecoach, to reach the healing waters.

Meet Zach Bockman
Zach offers massage at Wilbur and is a licensed acupuncturist with a private practice in Oakland, CA. His treatments utilize massage, acupuncture, and cupping to restore balance to better cope with the stressors of modern life.
Zach’s full body massage combines the best of old and new techniques, utilizing both a traditional Asian approach with sheets and a more modern style using oils. Rooted in Tuina, a 500-year old Chinese massage technique, his massage style can address the need to relax as well as musculoskeletal conditions. Zachary offers massage at Wilbur Hot Springs.

Clients will also have the option of incorporating acupuncture and cupping therapies at no additional cost. Using the ancient traditions of acupuncture and cupping, Zach will use tongue and pulse diagnosis to create a treatment customized for your body. This service enhances your ability to reduce stress and promote detoxification by relaxing muscles, increasing circulation, and aiding the natural detoxification process.
