TWO NEW DESIGNS TO SHARE

PORTUGUESE DESIGN

The Portuguese style of faceting design combines several advantages, including capturing color and weight and hiding inclusions. We cover the specific mechanisms of these advantages in the Advanced Academy training...

Recently, someone asked about a Portuguese Pear faceting design, and I was surprised NOT to find one in the Datavue data set. So, I decided to build one to share. Below are photos of that design, as well as links to videos of the ray-tracing video.

Prior to that, I had been wanting a Portuguese Heart, but didn't like any of the ones I had seen, so below is my interpretation of that notion.

For both designs, links to the designs and CAM-type preforms are given.

I hope you enjoy these designs - and share photos of the polished gems you make using them.

Have fun!
