Welcome to our September Newsletter!
Summer is coming to an end, the kids are back in school, and now is the time to start thinking about Holiday craft projects. It has been a busy summer putting the finishing touches on the Retreat Center. We attended our first quilt show as a vendor, scheduled our first quilting class, booked our first scrapbook retreat, and have ideas on other classes we would like to schedule. Victorian Christmas Quilt Class

We
have scheduled our first quilting class on October 26th, Anita Goodesign
Victorian Christmas Quilt with instructor Ollie Gray. The class will be held from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM and the Retreat Center will remain open until 8:00 PM for those that want to continue working after the class ends. Check out the full class

Four County Quilters Guild Show
|

On August 2nd and 3rd, we attended the Four County Quilters Guild Show in Mount Airy as a vendor.
We want to thank everyone who stopped by to say hello and learn about the Retreat Center. We would also like to thank everyone who let us borrow their quilts to decorate the booth, the dragon quilt was a big hit. We had a lot of positive feedback and ideas on events we can host at the Retreat Center.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the Retreat Center!

Anita Goodesign Goes Digital
|

If you have not heard the news, Anita Goodesign has gone digital! New designs will only be released as digital downloads. They will include the PDF tutorial and the design files in all machine formats just like the CDs included. The only way to get the Anita Goodesign monthly book with all the designs released for the month is to join their All Access Club on a monthly or yearly basis OR .... find an authorized dealer for back issues (limited quantities). Academy Retreat Center is an authorized dealer and we do have some back issues available. Check out our online store to see what is available.
