Subject: The Hidden Peril Behind a Beautiful Choice

Ever been so captivated by the beauty of something you missed the hidden danger?

During the recent snow and ice storms, the trees and branches in my yard glistened in the sunlight creating breathtaking scenes. Then, when it was time to drive my car down the driveway, those branches, weighed down by the heaviness of the ice crystals, hung over the driveway ready to scratch my brand new car.

The only safe option is to cut off or trim back those branches, the very ones that just days before inspired me to go out into the cold and take pictures.

This illustrates why we ought to pray for divine wisdom.

We often stand before a choice, believing that it promises relief, certainty, resolution. It seems to be the most logical and sensible. But the choice can be fraught with many unseen perils.

Divine insight reveals hidden dangers, and the quiet voice of the Holy Spirit directs us away from harm’s way.

That is why the Bible teaches us to always pray and not to become weary (Luke 18:1).

Prayer is our constant, persistent, necessary communication with our Heavenly Father. I need it.
