How it all started When I turned 50 years old, I said to God that I wanted to give Him a special birthday present. A present that did not require anybody's affirmation, approval or help. He said to me, ‘What do you love to do?’ And I said, ‘I love to travel.’ And he said, ‘That's it.’ And that's how my mission trips began. Between mission trips and speaking engagements at women's conferences, I’ve done at least 22 trips. My first trip was to Costa Rica and Panama with Maranatha Volunteers to build a church in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica. It was hot, hard work, not best suited for my skill set. Now, I travel and preach in various parts of the world.
