Hi Friend,

There are so many times when I've been humbled by the amazing participants who come into my ReMembering Course. many of them have already done incredible work, often professionally, along the same themes we engage in for the ReMembering Course (climate change, decolonization, spiritual development, land-based healing, anti-racism, working with lineages and ancestors, etc,). Many of these experienced participants have been working on related themes for decades - long before they find me.

For example:

• An academic who had led multiple trips to West Africa to engage with the histories of the slave trade.

• A professional grief therapist and circle-keeper who is also a forager, herbalist, and a highly skilled 'green witch'.

• A retired man who had sold some of his property and returned the funds to local native people - and then worked to help others do the same.

• A grandmother who has done decades of work on genealogy, for her own family and for other families... as well as engaging her faith community in climate justice.

• An investor who had moved millions towards native led conservation and climate justice work.

• A native lawyer and activist who was co-leading white folks in her region on learning journeys.

• One of the co-founders of the Dismantling the Doctrine of Discovery Coalition.

So why did these experienced people invest in the ReMembering Course?

One of the participants was even the co-author of a resource I assigned around the doctrine of discovery! Why did she want to take this course?

Like everyone else, it is hard for me to see some of the magic in what I'm doing. I'm just doing it.

So I keep asking people - what are you getting out of this course, you who know (and have put that knowledge into action!) so much?

Here's what I keep hearing:

1. The curated content really is unique, powerful, and helpful.

2. The other participants who come into the course are amazing; doing this work in community is a major missing piece.

3. Me: the way I teach and the way I carry and thus do a kind of transmission teaching. People take this course to learn directly from me.

4. The framing/embodied process of ReMembering - especially the integration work, is critical and hard to find elsewhere.

5. The realness of it all. It helps people come closer to the nature of reality.

I admit: those final comments are a bit mysterious to me.

One thing is for sure: this is definitely not just about "telling a new story" from some kind of factual perspective. Yes, there are facts. But it's so much more than facts. This is so much more than 'new information'.

Which, given that most people are struggling with information overload, is essential.

It’s about integration.

And they all loved the course and recommended it to their friends and colleagues.

Listening to people, I find myself wondering, how is it that the grounded/clear nature of reality is also so very mysterious?

Oh, come now, you spiritual director/theologian/witchy minister, MySelf tells myself.

What else could it be? Reality is mysterious.

Ah! How the teacher keeps on learning...
