"Your teachings on the witch-hunts have stayed with me for the last five years," a woman told me at a gathering we unexpectedly met at this week. "They helped me better understand my European heritage. They provided a grounding for me that I keep coming back to." 

I met her when I was invited to teach at a meditation course by the teacher,  a close friend. That friend had participated in a boutique teaching session I offered to meditation teachers about the intersections of colonization, climate change, and the European WitchHunts.  Afterwards, she told me that her students, all based in California, needed to know these histories which helped to reveal the western cosmovision/orientations that shape people's lives. She insisted that it will help them understand the non-European lineages we are sharing with them. She was right.

Which was itself a teaching for me: that for people, especially those caught up in Western/American/European worldviews, learning about the real histories of colonization and how those connected with why the western cosmovision is the way it is actually helps us engage with greater authenticity in whatever spiritual tradition we are a part of - Tantric, Catholic, Jewish, witchy, etc.

Part of ReMembering - part of knowing our place in the world and partaking in a kinship and collective worldview and way of living - is engaging with the historical trauma that has led to dislocation. 

It is part of why I keep teaching the ReMembering Course.  

It is not always easy or comfortable.

But it is powerful. 

At this time of year, when the veil between the worlds is thin, people seek connection with the more than human world. Sometimes its conscious and sometimes its unconscious.

It is a time when I see, all around me, both a yearning for and evidence that we are in the midst of a powerful moment of ReMembering and ReEnchanting (they absolutely go together).

Of ancient lineages finding ways of returning, dreaming themselves back into existence. Of ancestors speaking. I keep hearing the possibilities and the actualities of what has been broken and dis-membered returning. Not exactly as it was.  But not everything lost is inherently lost forever. The fire and water remember the stories they have heard, and they can help us re-member them.

The ReMembering Course supports this bigger work.  It is infused with practices, processes, support, and community to enable you to engage with the intersecting forms of disconnection. It gives you content that will help support you telling and embodying different stories about where we come from and why we are here.  

For all that this is engaging with suffering, it is immensely life-giving.
